Emigrating to Canada: An overview of the political system
The Canadian federal state, a parliamentary democracy with the British king as head of state, consists of ten provinces and three federally dependent territories. The Canadian provinces have a high degree of autonomy from the central government, but in return have relatively little influence on federal policy.
Canada is a traditional country of immigration in which different population groups live together in a diverse society. Civil society and cultural life are correspondingly diverse.

Climate in Canada: Important information for emigrants
As the second largest country in the world with an area of around 4600 by 5500 kilometers, Canada has different climate zones. The north of the country has a polar climate with long, very cold and snowy winters, with average summer temperatures remaining below 10 degrees. The west coast of Canada has a maritime climate characterized by high levels of precipitation due to humid air from the Pacific. Temperatures are significantly milder and summers are warm.
East of the Rocky Mountains, the weather is influenced by cold currents from the Arctic. Winters here are very cold, snowy and long, while summers tend to be short. In most parts of the country, the climate is predominantly cool and temperate. On the east coast, the Atlantic Ocean makes for somewhat milder winters compared to the continental interior. At the same time, summers are warmer inland than near the coast, and it can also get very hot at times.

Healthcare system in Canada: Important facts for emigrants
Everyone who moves to Canada can rely on first-class healthcare. Canada is known for its national health care system, which provides access to medical services for citizens and permanent residents. For those who are only in Canada temporarily, private health insurance is required. However, there are numerous options available to suit different needs and budgets.
Medicare
Nationals and permanent residents are entitled to access Medicare, which is mainly funded by taxes. Each territory and province has its own health insurance plan, which may vary but generally covers basic medical services. Private health insurance can also cover medical services that are not available through Medicare, such as optometry, dentistry, home care and prescription drugs.

Canada is one of the countries with the highest quality of life in the world and offers the perfect combination of security and adventure. For many people who want to emigrate to Canada, the breathtaking diversity of nature is a major attraction. The big cities are very attractive for investors and entrepreneurs thanks to their economic advantages. There are many jobs and a low unemployment rate. Even though the Canadian government is very friendly to immigrants, it is not quite so easy to emigrate to Canada. A visa is required, for which a police clearance certificate must be presented. There are different visas depending on the reason for entry. There is the option of a simple residence and work permit in the form of a family visa. A family class visa is also available for family members joining you if you already have family in Canada. Your resident family member will act as guarantor for your visa application. Emigrating to Canada therefore requires some preparation, but offers immense advantages and opportunities for a new life in one of the safest and most liveable countries in the world.

Can I use my own container that I already own for the move with DACHSER & KOLB?
For every removal, which we at DACHSER & KOLB always offer as a door-to-door (full service) removal, a container is rented for the duration of the removal. We therefore do not offer the option of using your own container.

What types of transportation do you offer for overseas relocation?
It is generally possible to carry out overseas removals via air freight or sea freight. In the case of sea freight, it is possible to ship the removal goods as additional cargo (“LCL shipment” with Liftvan) or with a container (FCL shipment in 20 feet, 40 feet or 40 feet high cube). We will be happy to discuss which option is best for you in a personal consultation.

You will receive an invoice a few weeks after placing the order and pay the full amount directly in advance.
